Strawberries & Wax Paper

Oil on canvas (original dimensions: 16”x20”)

This is a spontaneous still life of a few items I found in my house thrown together just for the sake of painting. I had strawberries in the fridge, took a candy dish given to us by my husband’s grandmother, a washing cup and scrunched up wax paper. I wanted to give the illusion that it was a cloth but needed it to stand by itself. Wax paper scrunched up seemed to do the trick.
