I love driving up the spectacular California coast.  Different spiritual phrases speak to me at different times. Here in Big Sur look up at these steps, I am reminded of Psalm 122. A psalm written by King David – the one who bought the land and laid the foundation for the Bais Hamikdash (The temple). I am still waiting for the day when his descendant, Moshiach, will rule again. We will rise up to Jerusalem once again and everyone will recognize the creator of the world:

“A song of ascent by David. I rejoiced when they said to me to the house of Hashem, let us go. Our feet stood firm within your Gates of Jerusalem. Jerusalem, the built up, is like a city that is united together. For there ascended the tribes, the tribes of God, a testimony for Israel to give thanks to the name of Hashem for there sat thrones for judgment thrones for the house of David. Pray for the peace of Jerusalem. Serene will be those who love you, may there be peace within your wall. Serenity within the palaces. For the sake of my brethren and my Conrads, I shall speak peace in your midst. For the sake of the house of Hashem, our God, I will request good for you.” (Psalm 122)
